Times, temperatures and ratios come from Teafinity’s curated library of 176 teas.
Which tool do you need?
If you brew in a mug or a teapot, start with the tea timer: choose a type, press start, and stop steeping when it rings. If you brew in a gaiwan or a small clay pot, use the gong fu timer instead — it counts a whole series of short infusions rather than one long one, and it remembers where you are in the series.
The steeping calculator answers the question the other two do not: how much leaf. Tell it the size of your pot and how strong you like your tea, and it scales the ratio for you in grams, with the matching temperature and time. The caffeine calculator is for the other end of the day — it lists every tea in the library by milligrams per cup and works out the hour to stop drinking.
All four read from the same curated data as the Teafinity app, so a sencha behaves the same way here as it does on your phone. Nothing you type is uploaded, nothing needs an account, and each page keeps the numbers as plain HTML tables so you can print them or paste them into a note.
Frequently asked questions
Are these tools really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no trial and no limit on how many times you can use them. The Teafinity app is the paid product; these pages are not gated.
Do they work offline?
Once a page has loaded, yes. Everything runs in your browser, so the timer keeps counting with the connection off. Bookmark the page and it will open again from cache.
Where do the times come from?
From Teafinity’s tea library: 176 teas, each with a Western schedule and, where the leaf supports it, a full gong fu ladder — the same data the app ships with.
Can I use these on my phone?
Yes, all four are built mobile-first. The timers keep the screen awake while they run, so the countdown stays visible.
The same timings, in your pocket
Teafinity loads the exact ladder for all 176 teas, rings while your phone is locked, and logs every session — free on iPhone and Android.
