Tea brewing charts
Five charts, every number computed from the same database of 176 teas that powers the Teafinity app — steeping times, temperatures in °C and °F, caffeine in milligrams, Gong Fu ratios, and how many infusions each leaf actually gives.
- Tea steeping chart Every tea type's temperature, time, ratio and re-steeps in one master table, plus the exact numbers for 60 named teas.
- Tea caffeine chart Milligrams per cup by type and by tea, with brewed coffee, espresso and cola as reference rows.
- Tea water temperature guide Temperature bands in °C and °F, matched to the bubble stages you can see without a thermometer.
- Gong Fu brewing chart Leaf per 100 ml, first-infusion seconds, the increment pattern and whether the type wants a rinse.
- Tea re-steeping chart How many infusions each type gives Western-style and Gong Fu-style, with the 20-infusion champions.
Most brewing charts on the web are one person's habits typed into a table and never touched again. These are different: they are generated at build time from 176 curated tea profiles — 90 of which carry a full Gong Fu infusion ladder — so when a tea's brewing data changes in the app, the chart on this page changes with it. Where a single number would be a lie, you get the median and the spread that 176 real profiles actually cover.
Start with the steeping chart if you want one table that answers "how long and how hot" for every tea type. Use the temperature guide if you have no thermometer — it maps each band to the bubbles you can see in the kettle. The caffeine chart puts tea next to coffee in milligrams per cup. The Gong Fu chart gives leaf-to-water ratios per 100 ml and the second-by-second infusion ladders. The re-steeping chart answers the question every good leaf raises: how many more cups are in here?
